Shame and blame ....
Unfortunately from time to time cues get stolen, preferentially in pool halls or at the tournaments. Too bad if it was an Arthur Cue. Our cues are namely one-of-a-kind, usually photodocumented custom made cues. The thief has only one chance: doing the secret training in his own basement. Show and see at any pool hall is impossible, to big is the danger that the cue is recognized. The cue can only be (profit-making) sold in the players scene, no non-player would invest a few hundreds or even thousands of Euros for a cue. No matter if it is in the pool fora or at Ebay: connoisseurs are everywhere and follow interested all the offers and watch out for the "sale of the Century".
Now, this is the comfort we can convey: according to our experience the chance is pretty good to get the cue back. But it sometimes might take years. That's what recently happened to an Italien player. His car (including his cue )were stolen about 4 years ago. Finally, after years the cue was offered in the player scene and "just like that" the cue found the way back to his owner.
To all the thieves: might all the cues stick in your craws (or somewhere else!). Give the cues back (at least anonymously), the cues won't bring luck to you anyway.
